We can use yoga to challenge ourselves, we can use it to improve our well-being, and oh, so much more!

Linda is a lifelong learner who has been teaching in one way or another for over 40 years. Early in 2007 she began to move from academics and indoor cycling to yoga, expecting simply to sub for her then yoga instructor. It wasn't long before she was hooked. More study led to more classes to teach. Her personal practice changed a sometimes angry driver into someone who could breathe and relax into the driver's seat, even in the midst of chaos. It changed a "nice enough" person into someone much nicer to know, someone with equanimity and filled with joy. She credits yoga and other fitness classes with helping her get beyond several difficult, ugly, extended family situations. Even simple traumatic events are held in the physical body and can be released and relieved by the practice of yoga.

Through further study and experience, Linda has become a firm believer in the mental and physical benefits of yoga. She has completed certification in yoga therapy (C-IAYT, with International Association of Yoga Therapists), and she has seen yoga help people on their journey toward healing from numerous problems (PTSD, panic/anxiety, fibromyalgia, cancer, asthma, CNS disorder, traumatic brain injury, back injury, osteoporosis/osteopenia, and in surgical recovery). Additionally, she is happy to teach yoga privately to students who are beginners or who want to learn yoga poses or philosophy that go beyond the scope of public classes. Linda has led an RYT200 yoga teacher training program, yoga workshops, special themed classes, and for free community events. She is no longer associated with Yoga Alliance.
